An introduction to NAGPRA (Native American Graves Protection and Repatriation Act) from Wendy Teeter and her experiences in the practice as UCLA’s NAGPRA Coordinator. Nakia Zavalla, Cultural Director at Santa Ynez Band of Chumash Indians, discusses the role this act has played within the Tribe and her experiences working for the Elders Council. Together they explain the importance of their collaboration and how viewing NAGPRA as the door that leads to unimagined rewards can lead to even greater accomplishments.
